  • i went to the ear, nose and throat specialist today, the last
appointment of many which started as a simple self-diagnosis 2 months
ago.  i was playing around with my niece when a i discovered a
little soft bump on my neck.  overly paranoid, i showed it to my
equally paranoid aunt who told me to make an appointment with the
doctor.  that coupled with the story my mom told me about some guy
who had worms in his neck from eating too much sushi, i paid a visit to
    the doctor.

turns out, the doctor is super thorough and scheduled me for a CT
scan.  i felt silly after the scan was over, because the doctor
reviewing the scans asked, "where again is the bump?"  i'm
thinking, can't he SEE it?  hmm.. maybe i didn't need the scan
    after all.

but it doesn't end there.  i get a call a day or so later and
am told the doctor wants to review the scan with me.  i ask: "am i
going to DIE!?"  the woman on the other end of the phone starts
laughing.  oops.  ok, i guess not.  but the doc did want
me to get an MRI because the scans picked up something else on the
other side of my neck. eh?  there's more?

so the MRI comes in and  i visit the specialist today. ..
the bottom line is, i'm FINE... completely, totally utterly
healthy.  i told the doctor i'm a hypochondriac and he writes it
down on my chart.   he jokes that  it's already been
recorded in the computer system.  sueann: hypochondriac.

so no more self-diagnoses for me !  i asked for a copy of my scans to take home, i'm gonna see if it's free :)

*edit*  twas a little swollen lymph node.. too small to cause any
worry... heh.  when i tried showing the ENT doc where it was, he
said, "your fingers must be more sensitive than mine."  the mri
picked up some random stuffs.. also nothing to worry about...
thanks for the concern!  minus jy.. you punk.

  • Actually, you know what the swollen lymph node and blood clot are? Side effects from your crazy anti-acne pills. It's your body begging you to stop! Have you had your 3-headed 4-armed baby yet? He's gonna be awesome at sports.
