  • i get home the other day and there are twigs all over the ground in front of my front door...

and there's even a twig on the ledge next to my doorbell...

    so
i look up and notice there are the makings of a bird's nest on the ledge
right over my door.. and i FREAK OUT!  sorry to all you bird
lovers out there but i was seriously grossed out.  birds are
freaky.  these 2 birds had been scouting out the area for the past
2 weeks, i'd come upon them quite a bit right outside my door and i
guess they decided to build their home on top of mine!!

here's one of the hateful creatures:  mama birdie: eeeewwwwww

    so
mission "die-birdy" was put into full effect.  i got my brother to
sweep off the sad makings of the nest, i slammed my door every chance i
got, i screamed at the top of my lungs when i saw them (altho this was more
    involuntary), i even
called the hoa to see if we can install some of those pointy sticks to
prevent the birds from sitting on my ledge...  this went on for 2 days.

and the next day, they were
    gone.

    funny
thing is, the minute i realized they were gone, i was a little
sad.  not only that, i would look around hoping to see them.
    how crazy is that??!!

  • i have a question about moving. haha. how did u take all ur stuff back to cali???  i don't wanna move, but looks like i'll end up there soon. . . how's life?

  • HAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!

that's so funny! i actually saw a nest on the ground at my parents place a few weeks ago ~ i hate birds but it was a little sad to see that their home got knocked down/blown from somewhere....

  • oooo dat happened 2 me 2. cuz in our front lawn we have this small cute tree and right under it was a making of a birds nest. my mom spotted it & made my dad throw it out. but we never saw the actual bird just the nest. it is kinda sad distroying thier home then again i agree, im not fond of birds either.

  • birds freak me out too! One time a woodpecker would peck into the siding of my parent's house. I thought a jack hammer was going into our house. I was seriously thinking of "doing the deed" to that woodpecker but eventually it went away.

My Jedi mind tricks made it go away....use the force Sue Annie, use the force.

  • We got rid of a nest once too! On top of our balcony!

We were amazed at the intricate details of that nest. I mean, they go out and find twigs and build a home, you know? Then we kicked them out...hahah~

  • Great story! Yeah it happened at my parent's house too. Left it there for many years of peaceful coexistence. In fact, I don't think any family member ever talked about it...but we all knew it was there.

  • With the pics and all, this entry almost reads like a a children's book. Was great!

  • HAHAHAHA!! SOO FUNNY! at least they weren't pigeons (RATS W/ WINGS!!) that would have been NASTY! i remember when i was little i made this 10' x 10' nest for this injured bird... ahhahahaha... why so big? i guess our enthusiasm got out of hand... hahaha.

  • sueann is so mean. but you took pictures of the twigs? I thought you were gonna say something about the blair witch.

  • BIRD HATER!! haha. it's understandable, i guess... they do have their frightening pigeon calls.

there was this bird nest in the parking garage in ed's condo, and whenever i was there, I'd watch the mama and papa bird build a nest for their new FAMILY. they laid eggs, and i even saw the egg shells on the ground... so I was so happy that the eggs hatched! and then.... later on.. I saw a chick!!! but it fell out of the nest.. and was hopping around. I wanted to save it and keep it and nurse it to health, but it was already almost dead. I was thinking about putting it back in the nest, but I decided to let nature take it's course. I cried all night.... I guess we're just different people... ANIMAL HATER! =P jk. I love u. haha.

  • mad funny -- reminds me when you, meesh, jenncho, and songer saw that dead pigeon when we were taking that picture (wasn't it on the steps on the met?)

  • BWAHAHAH!!! i love this story build-up. you have the makings of taking on nancy drew... dude, my heart was all racing from the suspense of each photo!       cute twigs.        i wholly agree, I despise birds (well, swans, ducks and baby chicks are okay, but I know you hate ducks, hahahah).  I hate crows & parrots the most.   beastly little suckas can die dude.  the crows at my house are as big as  raccoons and have some major balls...even if i try to run them over with my fatty tank (benzo), they never run. they just stare me down with an "i dare you."  rawr.

  • ever notice how there are always birds flying around inside at that one Albertson's?  seriously.  they gotta do something about that.  btw, i got more coupons in the mail! yay!

  • are you sure it wasn't your sister in law? i have a hard time believing your brother would do it.

  • Don't ever call me again.

  • you nut!!  :)   hahah.  but i totally understand....not a fan of birds...or butterflies or bats.  ewww.

  • After speaking with co-workers and cousins and aunts from Korea...I miss it too. :(

  • jenna is the cutest. thanks for letting me meet the little one!!! i love her photos. hee hee!

  • moohahahahhahahah!!!! your pics and comments are just hilarious.

  • Birds nest seem to follow me around. I had one at the apartment before last, and at my last apartment. I took their house down, but they kept rebuilding... but then I thought... why not let them stay there... after all they are just trying to build a home for themselves. Anyhoo, remind me, I think I owe you ten bucks.

  • oh baby...ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :)   how are you chica?

  • 5 ft turtles?!!! that's like as big as ellyn!!!!  omg!!!!
