  • the day is almost done.. wahooO! 


    my august:
    it all started off with a youth retreat in morro bay.. we're
    talkin' 3 days and 3 nights with no showers and primitive
    toilets.  for a girl who thrives on being comfortable, warm,
    clean, well-rested.. this was an interesting situation to find myself
    in.  but despite the lack of warm running water, attacking
    mosquitos, and drinking as little as possible to avoid the dreaded
    toilet.. the time we spent on the beach was amazing and i'm so glad for
    the chance to get to know the lwf youth better and to spend some quality time with God!  jiyung and i made
    the 3-hour drive hours ahead of the rest of the crew to prepare the
    campsite and put up the tents.  i think there were 8 tents? 
    just a few mishaps later (a fully-made tent that did a couple
    somersaults in the wind, and an angry pathological liar who didn't like
    us playing the guitar)..  the retreat had begun.. 

    here are the
    counselors.. minus justin who was taking a nap on the beach (he's the
    smart one)  and minus anna.. where was anna?!? we're trying to look gangsta, but failing miserably..
    like my ajumah hat?  gotta stay outta the sun!

    and here's the youth group.. so loveable and crazy!

    so
    i get home wednesday the 3rd at 7pm.. crash... wake up at 11pm to pack
    for my trip to hawaii.. 8am flight so the plan was to meet up at my
    aunt's place at 5am the next morning. man, that was the most relaxing trip to
    hawaii ever and i only made it to the beach once!  so relaxing...
    saw my cousin get married, saw old friends..  went boogie boarding with my aunt who kept her welder's mask on..

    then the
    day after i returned to cali, jenny cho lee came to visit.. she thinks
    i almost forgot about her, and maybe i was just a little surprised that the day
    had come so soon, but it was mucho fun-o...  we took a 16-mile
    bike ride from san francisco to tiburon with a quick lunch stop in
    sausalito... i LOVE this ride!  anyone want to come out for a bike
    ride?  great views, and the weather was beautiful... jenny, you
    got pics to send me?  i'm a goob and have none to show for
    now.. 

    which brings me pretty much up to date for now.. next stop? 
    new
    orleans with the an sistas.. next week.  dang, that snuck up on me
    too....
