• being old and single is funny because everyone tries to set you up.. and not that they're looking for someone that's perfect for you, just someone that's older than you..

  
  

  so the latest attempt was by my gramma, bless her heart...  so the other day i get this email:  (and i apologize if the writer of the email ever runs across this site, but dang it!  i just couldn't resist sharing it...  edited, of course)

  
  

  Hello, and Happy New Year.
  
  I am the son of the niece of your grandmother's
  classmate.  I believe you and your family have already
  met my parents.  This is really not the way I would
  like to communicate with someone for the first time,
  but I hope you'll get an idea of who I am.
  
  The reason I am not practicing pharmacy in California
  is a bit complex.  I actually decided to stick around
  "x" and work here after graduation.  I don't mind
  the weather, for one thing.  There is also much more
  paperwork involved when one wants to take the
  California pharmacy board exam upon graduation as
  opposed to taking the exam following at least one year
  of pharmacy practice in another state.  I went the
  latter route, and have not yet passed the exam.  I
  found that one tends to forget a lot of what is
  learned in school after a while.  As you can see, I am
  in no hurry to go anywhere. 

  
  

  As for me personally, I keep to myself most of the
  time and am not too comfortable being in large-group
  settings such as big parties or social gatherings.  I
  am not very sociable.  Work has been keeping me
  extremely busy, so all I do for fun these days is
  listening to music and hanging out in bookstores with
  cafes.

  oh man....  so you think i should write back?  i was thinking something along the lines of.. "i have no teeth, no hair and every now and then i scream "hallelujah" at the top of my lungs.."
